Class 1 Drone Templateby ~gpsc

So I put things off until I have a reason to do them. Since an updated template for the Class 1 drone was requested, I spent the past several hours designing one. This is a completely new model from the one that I assembled 2 years ago [link] This one should be more friendly to assemble. This model actually is based on the Class 1 Drone seen briefly in Descent 3, not Descent 1. So, there are subtle differences in the shape. All textures are modified from textures designed by the D2X-XL team [link] They didn't create a texture for the Class 1 Drone, or a texture with red eyes, so I took both upon myself

As always, if you assemble the model I'd like ot see it

oh I still have an old version up it appears. I guess I never finished and uploaded the one I was working on with better gluing tabs... at least it's still easier than that medium lifter. anyway, the one in the picture with the guide-bot was made from a completely different template. FOr this one, I extracted the model from Descent 3 because the geometry was better. For the textures I applied the high res textures from the D2X-XL project to the model, but that messed up the eyes, so after I unwrapped it in Pepakura, I impoted into either GIMP or Fireworks I forget which and I overlaid the eyes, also from the D2X-XL pack.

well I made my own using this template, the only problem I came across was lack of attachment method... which I came up with an idea that sucked horribly, lol. maybe if I make another in the future I shall add tabs and slots to it so its easier to tape.

That is an unfortunate flaw of my template. The medium lifter you see assembled in my gallery (I didn't make that template) has the same problem. I added caps to the open faceas but my hard drive crashed and I lost the work.

My guide bots glue together much better if you want to do another one!

Actually,my computer is now dead.
I am now resorting to using my parents.

I think DA somehow is infected with viruses too since the warnings only come up when I am on here T^T

I got a virus the one time I tried using dA on Internet Explorer... not sure if the'rs a relaitonship. never had the issue using Firefox... could be coincidence though. But I really miss the mightiest mouse

I will be using Firefox if I can ever get my computer fixed. It's not looking too good right now though.
